glorious fiasco yams

6 easy steps to glorious fiasco yams:
1. make yams and cover with marshmallows and brown sugar.
2. put under broiler until they catch on fire. cover with a pan lid and carry outside.
3. have someone announce they've "lost the gravy" at the same time.
4. scoop off the burnt marshmallows with a spatula and fling into the back yard.
5. march back inside.
6. eat and enjoy!

Jesus Miracle

Tonight I cut part of a lino block image of Jesus. The miracle that happened was that when I cut through the block his face turned to flesh color. The whole block is white. How did that happen? I've cut more lino blocks than I can say and this is a first. A miracle and message from our Creator. Holy ART!
Kate says she can't wait to see the lips cut...to see if they turn pink or red and start talking.

a broom

i spotted this broom near the elevators in the long term visitor parking at ohsu. what history, timeless personality, and aura of good old fashioned function. this one's for you, robert...i know you would've wanted to cast this in glass.

i'm too busy to cook.

it's true. beans on a tortilla on a yellow plate. this was a recent dinner because i was just too busy and tired to cook. look at this! it's so yellow! when am i going to learn to cook something other than cans of beans or cookies? the holidays are coming...i'd better get it together.
